The
village of Chiddlingly is about 12 miles from Eastbourne (on the coast), 18
miles from Brighton, 9 miles from Lewes, which is the nearest mainline
station (London Victoria 1 hour) and 52 miles from Hyde Park Corner (London).
Local shops deliver and the milkman calls 3 or 4 times a week. Eggs
and fresh vegetables are usually on sale from the garden. Cooking
and cleaning help are usually available, also baby sitting. Logs
are available at £2.00 per sack.
